今日は焼津市の姉妹都市タスマニアの首都のホバート市から約１時間離れているオートランズというところでそば祭りが行なわれました。そこでそばを育てて風車で粉にして日本まで輸出します。ちょうど季節が反対なので日本でそばが育てられない時期にタスマニアはそばの旬になります。日本から来たそば職人が現地でそばを作りました。見学ができたり作りたてそばが食べられたりお茶会に参加したりできました。太鼓パフォーマンスと伝統的な子供遊びもありました。とても楽しい一日でした! 下の写真をご覧ください.
Today a soba festival was held in Oatlands, about 1 hour from Yaizu city’s sister city and Tasmania’s capital city, Hobart. Soba is grown and made into flour at the windmill there where it is exported to Japan. The season’s are exactly the opposite so when soba can’t be made in Japan it is soba season in Tasmania. Soba chef’s were invited from Japan and they made soba on site. You could watch soba being made, eat freshly made soba and participate in a tea ceremony.
